First Event: 9/19 Sample Gates
We are holding an event on 9/19 at the Sample Gates at 2pm. We called it Geocaching at IU- Welcome Back to Campus!
Meet there at 2pm! We'll meet each other, then divide up into groups to go geocaching on campus! We have alot of new geocachers that are supposed to be there, so it should be alot of fun!
If you're new to geocaching, this is the event for you. There should be enough geocachers there with GPS units to share, so you don't need one! We're sure you'll enjoy geocaching just as much as us.

At the June event, we saw that there are alot of geocachers in the Bloomington Geocachers that attend IU as students as well as several staff and faculty. It's a great way for you to meet people at IU and some community members. Hope you can join us!

What does IU Geocaching do?
The IU Geocaching Club is bringing the fun of geocaching to you. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or have never been caching before, the IU Geocaching club is for you! If you don't have a GPS unit, we'll hook you up with a group that does!
We have monthly outings. Some in Bloomington, others we'll travel for weekend geocaching marathons to cool sights that you get to choose.
We're looking for some new leadership. So if you have any ideas for how we should format the club, please let us know.
You can contact us at iugeocaching @ gmail.com
Make sure to join our Facebook group at http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5543223221 to hear about upcoming outings!

What is Geocaching?
Do you like scavenger hunts?
What about exploring the great unknown?
Are you adventurous?
Geocaching is the sport where YOU are the search engine!
Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for GPS users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a gps unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the cache.
